..Ever since my Oregon skydive video was terribly filmed.. I just wasn't satisfied. I needed an adventure to share with the world. I knew the place was sketchy and all, skydiving on a ranchers property and all, but I had to get a jump in. The video guy was terrible and I couldn't return to a more legit place due to weather and my flight the next day..so I came up with another idea, based on the weather to get a video going. I'll have to return to Oregon another time and I already know the place I will skydive with next time. I'll make a video for the beauty of Oregon soon!

I thought of a place, just had talked about it recently too..Yosemite!!!!  just so happened it was sunny and near my friends baby shower! Perfect right!?

It would be perfect..However, It wasn't originally perfect..So, I began the planning. The hike Saturday, cause driving on Sunday after a big hike would be unpleasant. We would drive up Friday PM and start the hike Saturday morning. I'd cook dinner after the hike and we would head to the buffet for breakfast on Sunday at the Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, just outside Coarsegold. Afterwards, head down to Fresno for my friend Chris's baby shower. I had gotten the day of the baby shower mixed up though! Doh! it was Saturday..Luckily enough, the baby shower ended up changing to Sunday, making my plan viable. Phew!

I had an ex-coworker recently inform me of an Airbnb they ran in Oakhurst, one of the gateways to Yosemite. I chatted to see if it was open for the coming weekend and it was a green light from her. Thank you Diane and Bob! I would rather support someone i know, than a motel or hotel. Thanks to them we had a place to stay. You can find a link to Diane's Airbnb link below!

The weather was perfect, we had a place to stay for the weekend and then as we head back to Los Angeles..After a day spent in Fresno for the baby shower.

OK! All set! Let's Go!

This weekend was a great escape from reality. My adventure was originally proposed to a specific group of Adventurers..the weekend before this one. I had one volunteer to join me, Lupe was a great trooper. She was a great traveling buddy, great convo's during the drive, strong hiking capabilities and a great help at the baby shower.

It began with picking up Lupe. Heading to the grocery store once we got to Oakhurst. We found a big sub sandwich that was cut into smaller portions for us to eat as lunch on the hike. Along with some fruit and also picked out a dinner to cook after the hike. Which didnt go that well due to the poor quality of meat I selected, my bad. It wasnt the death of us though! Lupe didnt complain at all for my bad choice in meat haha phew! Thanks Lupe!

Well, we arrived at the Airbnb I reserved through diane after grocery shopping and filling up the gas tank of the car, so we drove there and that was our Friday night. We prepared with little time left so we could get at least 4-5 hours of sleep. We woke up and delayed by a GPS glitch. It wouldn't take us to the trailhead, so we improvised and decided to follow the GPS by simply looking at it (the map) without being directed by the GPS. Worked out great! We started @CloudsRestYosemite at @TenayaLakeTrailhead. With 2 hours spent on the peak, 15 miles and 8 and a half hours later..we returned to the car. I'd describe this trail a lot like strawberry peak, with a great incline all the way up. A bending ridge that leads to the peak, although no real rock scrambling here. It's a lot more flat at the top and walking across..instead of scrambling up the rocks. Once at the peak of Cloud's Rest, you'll be able to see the beautiful Yosemite valley and the famous Half-Dome in plain view. An amazing journey and only 15 miles give or take.

Once back at the Airbnb, me and Lupe cooked dinner. Some cubed meat and veggies in a lime and cilantro sauce. Sweet potato was the veggie. I had found a rice cooker in the airbnb kitchen and used that for the sweet potato. I really tried to soften the cubed beef and flavor it..didnt turn out great though. I think it was fake glued beef, it tasted strong and was hard to chew. Lupe was kind and didn't blame me. I ate most of it so not to waste it. Later in the morning we headed to the casino for a buffet brunch.

After eating, finished the drive down to Fresno for Ashley and my long friend Chris's Baby Shower. They were a little behind on prep and so me and Lupe sprung into the action to get this baby shower started. It was a huge success and food was great!

Best wishes to new parent's Chris & Ashley.
