I've done quite a bit up till now and really gained a long resume of job skills, either worked at, observed, researched and never really found a passion for... That is until 09.20.2024, when it hit me... I thought about what I've been doing for the last 5 years. (Very passionately on my free time) For the last 5 years I have tried Ride Share (Uber), Healthcare (Phlebotomist), Notary, ABA Child Development, Armed Security and STILL thought of what company to work for or what trade skill to try next. However, my realization was that I've been tinkering with computers and learning everything about them... ALL of this time.

Nearly every day for the last 5 years doing all of my day jobs. I'd come home and work on computers in some way. I've invested that time and money into personally testing various computer parts, building family computers and tuning them all to work perfectly. Troubleshooting any problems and finding the solutions, if any issues or errors occurred.

...Thinking how to get into the Information Technology field recently and gain experience. Well, I thought that I could also just transform Howtocalmlife into that idea. Howtocalmlife was originally a Life Coaching idea, but I didn't really know how to grow that and repeat a professional customer experience. So, now I already have a business name to use and after 5 years of serious learning, I can say that I finally found my passion. Meanwhile, I have developed a system and put them into topics for organization. This system was turned into the page that I named Tech Tips. The goal of Tech Tips is to display my knowledge and help you decide what services you need.

"Computer Maintenance"

From building piece by piece, to troubleshooting a finished build, making sure a pc works as intended. The goal is getting the best experience out of them, within everyone's personal budget. All the while... maintaining them, installing windows, installing drivers, installing programs, customizing the UI, installing games, checking the temps during tasks, tuning games towards better performance and making a clear upgrading path when necessary... the list goes on... This is all more fun to me than actually playing games now :)

After spending a good amount on buying parts to test myself, giving the best performance to my family and me. I've ran out of computers to work on. I'd like to share this knowledge developed over the years and make a living doing PC maintenance for the community!

With the community's help, I can work within the field of my passion, help get your computer needs resolved, ready for you and your family to enjoy.

Caleb's Desktop

Started with a 2700x + 5700xt (11.2019), now with 7950X3D + 7900XT (9.2024).

Tuning: EXPO enabled 32gb@6000. Cpu Curve optimizer all core negative 5. Cpu Positive +200mhz. iGPU enabled. dGPU zero fan mode disabled, overclock + undervolted @ 100% power. Custom Fan curve case fans and dGPU fans. Drivers are updated regularly. Windows updates are automatic. Use it for any windows task, any game up to 4k 144hz, Live Streaming 1080p 60fps, video editing. Excellent performance and stable temps.

Note: Movie watching (movies would be better on Nvidia with super resolution smoothing out compressed pixelation. AMD doesn't have this feature for movies). Besides movies being in lower quality on an AMD dGPU, all other tasks performance is excellent.

Caleb's Laptop
Asus G14 2021 AMD Addition: Performed a RAM upgrade, 16gb to 24gb. Runs like a champ now. Purchased a laptop cooler (gets hot), usb hub, ethernet adapter for situations when my desktop is being worked on. During travels, I just take a small laptop stand and mouse in a laptop bag. Note that this laptop needs to be opened or it will auto-shutoff during gaming (high temps do NOT display, but it will still shut down on its own). It will NOT auto-shutoff when open and running games, runs perfectly stable within specs. Drivers are updated regularly. Windows is updated automatically. Uninstalled Asus Bloatware and using Ghelper instead.

Performance is very good for the specs and I would do anything from gaming, video editing and movie watching at 1440p 120hz. The only thing I wouldn't do is Live Streaming on it, due to its older hardware. Would be great on a 1080p or 1440p standalone monitor. I connected it to my C1 a bunch of times now and ran great at 1440p 120hz.
